CARBONATE ROCKS ARE TAKEN AS A MODEL TO DEMONSTRATE THE EFFECT OF THEIR COMPOSITION AND SPECIFIC STRUCTURAL FABRIC ON THE VALUES OF THE MODULUS OF DEFORMATION AND THE DYNAMIC MODULUS OF ELASTICITY. ESTABLISHED IS THE INFLUENCE OF THROUGHOUT JOINTING AND TIGHT FRACTURING ON THE DEFORMABILITY OF TEST SAMPLES OF DIFFERENT COMPOSITION. SOAKING OF SAMPLES UNDER HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE OF VARYING MAGNITUDE AND DURATION IS SHOWN TO REDUCE DEFORMATION BY 5 TO 20%. /AUTHOR/
