CORRELATION OF SLOPE DESIGN WITH HIGHWAY NEEDS WAS CONSIDERED A FIRST STEP TOWARD ECONOMIC AND PERMANENT EROSIN CONTROL; ALSO, CORRELATION OF FARM LAND WATER DISPOSAL SYSTEMS WITH THOSE OF THE HIGHWAYS WAS IMPORTANT. IT WAS NOTED THAT CLASSIFICATION OF SOILS ON THE BASIS OF ERODIBILITY FOR THE USES OF ENGINEERS WAS BEING MADE.
