Prototype 6 MVA converter incorporating solid-state techniques installed by ASEA at Moholm for Swedish State Railways followed by four further units of 16 MVA to supply 16 2/3 Hz current from 50 Hz grid supplies in conjunction with rotary convertors and for which the phase-controlled cycloconvertor is suited.
