BRITISH RAILWAYS INVESTIGATION INTO ADHESION CONDITIONS USING CONTROLLED DISC-BRAKING TECHNIQUES

A hauled set incorporating a Tribometer vehicle, the wheel sets of which are independantly braked upto a wheel-slide condition at which data logging equipment in the Laboratory van records the parameters and during which braking is controlled; brake-disc temperatures are preset to inhibit subsequent applications.
