ALUMINUM FUER SCHNELL LEICHTBAU-ZUEGE

Review of the current status of development in the field of fast and lightweight rail vehicles constructed from special weldable aluminum alloys in the Federal Republic of Germany. Characteristics of the alloys employed are given, and a description is presented of the principal design features of several recent types of vehicles made from these alloys which are being operated by the German Federal Railroad and by subway transit systems in major German cities.
