FEM Modeling and Experimental Tests of Timber Bridge Structure
A timber bridge across the Bata's channel at the village of Hustenovice was numerically modeled using the finite element programs Scia Engineer and ANSYS. The main results from the numerical model were compared to those obtained from experimental testing of the structure. These numerical models were calibrated using experimental data from the static and dynamic load tests performed. Finally, future research on such structures is outlined.
