CN WHEEL SHOP TOOLED FOR A DECADE OF GROWTH

Operation and production methods of Canadian National Transcona Shops which is reported to be the largest of CN's repair and maintenance facilities in Western Canada, being located east of Winnipeg. It is the only point where heavy car and locomotive repairs are made in the Prairie and Mountain Regions it serves. Currently production at Transcona involves about 22,000 freight-car wheelsets annually, along with other wheels for passenger cars and locomotives.
