Design and Implementation of Security Mechanisms for the N-Fi-based Telematic System

Telematics is important for intelligent transportation system (ITS) implementations. However, security is the key issue when important information or private data transmission among V2R (vehicle to roadside) even V2V (vehicle to vehicle) wireless communication. The objective of this research is to design and implement a security mechanism based on the Near Field Informatics (N-Fi) system and hopefully it tackles challenges on V2R telematic systems. Experiments on the accuracy of V2R were conducted and the results showed that the proposed platform performs successfully under the environment with various traffic situations.
