Asset Management Challenges for Road Networks: A Roadmap for Research

The Forever Open Road Programme is the Forum of European Highway Research Laboratories' (FEHRL's) program focused on developing and maintaining the roads of the 21st century. The Programme has developed a roadmap for research for three elements of these future roads: the adaptable road, the automated road, and the resilient road. This document focuses on asset management, a theme that contributes to the adaptable element. Sections include: scope and focus including research and innovation topics, challenges and future needs, a vision for 2025, milestones for 2015 and 2020, and research statements/priorities for programming to 2020.
