Best Practices Library from the Environmental Stewardship Practices in Construction and Maintenance Compendium
The objectives of this National Cooperative Highway Research Project (NCHRP) 25-25 Task 29 are to create and test a process for identifying best practices from "Environmental Stewardship Practices, Procedures, and Policies for Highway Construction and Maintenance" (Compendium) and to establish recommended procedures for updating the Compendium on an ongoing basis. This report describes the development of an evaluation process, the observations of the two Working Groups that applied the test process to two sections of the Compendium and the outcomes of their effort. This report also describes the potential value that this process could deliver in the way of a library of screened best practices, a methodology for linking the vetted sections to the AASHTO Center for Environmental Excellence’s online Compendium and a protocol for keeping the Compendium current.
