The interrelations between traffic density and walking speed on stairs and in groups of passengers in front of stairs are discussed and details are given about walking speed on platforms, length of build-up of pedestrians in front of stairs and maximum densities on and in front of stairs. The results of extensive practical tests are represented graphically.
