Evaluation of changes in teenage driver exposure
This study evaluates the factors responsible for the decline in the number of teenagers getting driver licenses, and in the number of teenage drivers receiving automobile insurance. Results indicate that the major variables in both of these declines include the very high teenage unemployment rate, and the continuation of the recession. The existence of state graduated licensing laws has not been a factor contributing to the recent decline.
