Construction 2013
This issue contains 12 papers concerned with construction. The papers are categorized into four parts. Part 1 includes four papers on construction management and project delivery. Specific topics include: a project delivery selection matrix for highway design and construction; fatigue in highway construction workers; and early contractor design involvement to expedite delivery of emergency highway projects. Part 2 has one paper on quality assurance. Part 3 has three papers on Portland cement concrete pavements. Specific topics address thickness determination; patching; and thickness variation assessment. Part 4 includes three papers on asphalt pavements. The papers in this part concern the influence of thermal segregation on asphalt pavement compaction; compaction monitoring; and haul time effects on binders. Part 5 includes two papers on bridges and structures. Specific topics include construction engineering recommendations for curved and skewed steel girder bridges and the Lake Champlain bridge emergency replacement project.
