Simplicity with Control (IT as an enabler of Electromobility Success Factors)
The success of Electromobility introduction strictly depends on two major issues, the user acceptance and the deployment of an appropriate infrastructure. Both issues are highly interrelated since user acceptance will only increase if using and charging an electric car (eCar) is as convenient and simple as it is with a traditional car. To speed up the successful deployment of Electromobility it is very important to identify the right success factors, enablers and to solve the integration of the various stakeholders (with all their different motivations) in the value chain - ranging from energy and infrastructure providers to car manufacturers. This raising complexity of the Electromobility ecosystem has to be handled and IT service providers will play an important role as integrator and provider of simplicity to the user. This paper gives on overview about the current situations, early adopter examples and their needs and how simplicity can be archived in a first step within the complex Electromobility ecosystem.
