Structures 2013, Volume 2

This issue contains seven papers concerned with structures. The papers are categorized into three parts. Part 1 addresses seismic design and performance of bridges. The first paper in this part discusses the seismic retrofit of aerial stations, while a second paper discusses the Cardinal Raúl Silva Henríquez bridge during the 2010 Chile earthquake. Part 2 addresses culverts and hydraulic structures. One paper in this part is concerned with the material behavior of fibers in dry-cast application, while a second paper discusses the behavior of joints in buried thermoplastic pipelines. Part 3 concerns structural fiber-reinforced polymers. Specific topics discussed in the three papers include: hybrid composite beams for bridge applications; flexural behavior of hybrid composite beams; and connections in hybrid precast concrete bridge truss girders.
