2013 Transportation Asset Management Peer Exchange
This report summarizes the proceedings of the 2013 Transportation Asset Management Peer Exchange hosted by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). The peer exchange was held in Burlington, Vermont on July 24th and 25th, 2013. The purpose of this peer exchange was to provide participants from state Departments of Transportation (DOTs) an opportunity to share information on the best and current practices in asset management and maintenance and to discuss the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) Transportation Asset Management Plan (TAMP) requirements. A particular focus of this peer exchange was the role of asset preservation and maintenance within a DOT’s asset management program and in their TAMP.
