Over the Orinoco
Currently being built over one of South America's longest rivers, the Orinoco River in Venezuela, a third cable-stayed bridge will provide a vital fixed link, the design and construction details for which are reported in this article. The bridge is also designed to accommodate rail traffic, should it be needed in the future. The bridge is needed due to the economic importance of the state of Bolivar on the south bank, which it will connect with Guarico State in the north, and future development plans for the region.
