The Easy-OBU Project
Easy-OBU is a European Research Project co-funded in the 7th FP of the European Commission. The project was accepted within the 3rd Call of the GSA - Use of EGNOS and early GALILEO services for professional applications. All projects in this call are managed by the European GNSS Agency. The Easy-OBU project team consists of 5 partners from 3 European Countries. The project coordinator is EFKON AG from Austria. The other partners are: Austria Tech (Austria), pwp-Systems (Germany), Technical University of Prague (Czech Republic) and ITS&S (Czech Republic). The project started in June 2012 and lasts 2 years. The main objective of Easy-OBU project is to introduce and demonstrate an inexpensive, portable on-board-unit (OBU) with open interfaces that allows retrospective robust positioning of vehicles for those instances where no or insufficient signal reception from navigation satellite were available.
