Development of Large-Scale Precast, Prestressed Concrete Liquified Natural Gas Storage Tanks
This paper addresses the necessity for cryogenic-rated storage tanks to accommodate the increased use of liquefied natural gas. The authors discuss the development of large-scale precast concrete cryogenic storage tanks, including design and construction challenges. They also address special considerations needed for fabricating, handling, erecting, temporarily supporting, integrating, and posttensioning long and slender precast concrete wall elements.
