Roads can be build smarter and more efficient
Wegen aanleggen kan slimmer en efficiënter
Within the 'Intelligent compacting' project the VIM (Flemish Institute for Mobility) examined how the use of intelligent systems can improve the construction of asphalt pavements. With these intelligent systems the construction quality of the road surface is directly monitored, while before this was done afterward. The research shows that not only contractors benefit from intelligent rollers, road authorities also take advantage. The continuous quality control make that roads are better constructed and this extends their life.
