Environment Modelling for Future ADAS Functions
This contribution proposes an environmental model which can support future Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These functions need a representation of not only a limited number of real world entities like other vehicles but a holistic representation of occupied and free space as well. For the proposed hybrid environmental model steps towards an efficient implementation are presented, making its application on an automotive ECU feasible. It is validated by its application in lateral and longitudinal ADAS functions for supporting a driver in construction site scenarios.
