WESTFALIA MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT IN 3,200 M LONG ELBE RIVER TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION

THE ARTICLE DESCRIBES THE GENERAL CONSTRUCTION OF SECTION 2 OF THE ELBE RIVER TUNNEL AT HAMBURG, WHICH IS PART OF THE EUROPEAN MOTORWAY E3, LINKING SCANDINAVIA WITH SOUTHERN EUROPE. THE TUNNEL SECTION INVOLVES THE SHIELD DRIVING OF THREE PARALLEL TUNNELS, EACH 1113 M LONG, WITH AN OUTER DIAMETER OF 10.83 M.
