Practical Strategies for Increasing Mobility in Atlanta

This document presents a proposal for addressing congestion problems in Atlanta, Georgia. It suggests: an increase in freeway lane capacity, new freeways to include variable tolls, pylon barriers to separate managed lanes, and the creation of a major primary arterial network to include variable tolls. In addition, changes to the transit network are suggested including adding new local bus routes and a new bus rapid transit network. Funding sources for the proposed improvements are also suggested.
