Outlook 2013: Funds, Funds, Funds
In December 2013, Better Roads magazine conducted a survey of its contractor and agency readers regarding the state of the industry and outlook for 2013. This article discusses some of the survey results. In general, respondents indicated that inadequate funding remains the biggest challenge in the industry. In addition, a large majority of respondents indicated that they are seeing or expecting to see increasing transportation infrastructure deterioration due to lack of funding for repair work. Most respondents expect funding levels to remain the same in 2013 as they were in 2012, and a majority will be looking at private financing options.
