Culvert rehabilitation in three easy steps

A year after its installation, centrifugally cast concrete pipe is performing well, as part of the rehabilitation of the Forest Parkway culvert in Lake City (Clayton County), Georgia. Typical procedures would not work as inspection revealed completely corroded inverts and sidewalls that were curling up into the pipe interior, as well as some collapsed pipe. Trenchless repair technology was used in order to create a smooth, watertight, structurally sound pipe within new tunnel liner plates, as well as to smooth out the corrugations created by flanges. In order to prevent future failure, county engineers achieved soil stabilization with cementitious grout injections until refusal.
