Opportunities and Barriers for Cooperative Services Deployment in Spain
Cooperative systems and services can provide a significant improvement in road transport. This fact has led to numerous research and development (R & D) studies for the development and testing of systems and services that involve communications between vehicles or between vehicles and infrastructure. However, in general, these services are not treated in a global approach that explores the possibilities of deployment in each specific country. But this implementation can be difficult. This feasibility study assesses the usefulness of different services, the likelihood of introduction and estimated time for the implementation in Spain. For this purpose, the opinions of a large group of experts of different agents that can intervene in the implementation of these services have been requested. Technological, social, cultural, economic and administrative barriers for deployment have also been analyzed.
