Water Droplets Electrocoalescence and Instabilities in Cleaner Process of Oils and Fuel Oils for Marine Engines
An analysis of water droplets electrocoalescence from a water-in-dielectric liquid emulsion, in an electrostatic oil cleaner process is made in this paper. The efficiency of electrostatic purging of marine fuels and oils is analyzed. It is studied an electroseparator for dielectric liquids by own conception and the effect on water droplets instabilities under an electric field. It is studied a case that is not studied frequently, that of an inhomogeneous electric field. The process is simulated using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) software with the capability to provide visual and mathematical data.
