DEVELOPMENTS IN UNLOADING BULK GOODS--A STUDY OF THE TECHNIQUE OF SYSTEMS

Trends in overseas shipments of bulk goods and the building and operation of bulk cargo vessels are explained with the aid of statistical reviews. Unloading ocean-going vessels is considered as a link in the total transportation chain. This link and its constituents are made the subject of a more detailed study. This gives rise to aspects on a systematic classification of the different methods of unloading bulk goods. These methods are briefly described and then assessed and compared.
