Deep under cover
Construction on Corridor X, soon to be known as Interchange-22, in Birmingham, Alabama, is making use of lightweight aggregate fill in order to solve storm-water culvert issues. It is being used for fill over the top of a pipe that's buried deep beneath the highway. Engineering details and design requirements of the construction are presented here.
