UNDERWATER ASPECTS OF BIG SHIP NAVIGATION

With the advent of the second generation of VLCC's the problems of shallow water navigation became increasingly severe. Methods of position fixing and hydrographic surveying are reported and existing and possible new instrumentation is discussed.
