NEW DESIGNS OF PRESSIOMETER FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE STRESS-STRAIN MODULUS IN ROCK MASSES

TWO TYPES OF PRESSIOMETERS USED FOR DETERMINING THE STRESS-STRAIN MODULUS OF ROCK MASSES IN SITU ARE DESCRIBED. THE II-46 PRESSIOMETER IS DESIGNED FOR HOLES MEASURING 46 MM. IN DIAMETER DRILLED FROM THE SURFACE OF THE MASSES OR FROM A MINE AS DEEP AS 5 M. THE II-76 PRESSIOMETER IS DESIGNED FOR TAKING MEASUREMENTS IN WET TEST HOLES 76 MM IN DIAMETER AND UP TO 100 M DEEP. IN 1965-1968, THESE PRESSIOMETERS WERE SUCCESSFULLY USED IN A SURVEY FOR HYDROPOWER STATION CONSTRUCTIONS IN MOUNTAIN AREAS. /RRL/
