The Effect of Tinted Headlights – A Look into the Level of Light Diminishment Headlights Experience When a Tint is Applied to the Headlight

This paper shows that tinting headlights drastically diminishes the amount of light that is generated from headlights. Many states prohibit the tinting of headlamp lens by statute. Based on the amount of available light that is reduced by headlight tinting, it is safe to conclude that drivers of these vehicles will have difficulty navigating their vehicles at night. The objective of this paper is to help drivers understand the severity of headlight tinting and also to give insight into the detrimental effects of tinting.
