Methodology for measurements with the use of Statistical Pass-By and Close ProXimity methods

Metodika k mereni pomoci statisticke metody pri prujezdu a metody male vzdalenosti

The project “Optimization of Technical Measures to Reduce noise in the Vicinity of Roads” was focused on the research of road surface noise at the contact tyre/road surface. The collected results from the measurements of both partial methods (Statistical Pass-By, Close ProXimity) were analysed and compared in terms of noise level for individual surfaces. Based on the extensive knowledge of noise measurement by SPB and CPX methods, a guidance document for the work with these methods was produced. The methodology contains recommended procedures for measurements which allow the field measurement results to be as much usable and comparable with other methods as possible. The costs for the introduction of procedures specified by the methodology are negligible, since they particularly determine principles of how to perform such in-field measurements. Economic benefits for users are in the form of accurate data, therefore, no repetition of measurements is required. This may represent a saving of approx CZK 30 000 per a measurement.
