THE DYNAMIC COMPACTION OF WATER-SATURATED, COHESIVE SOILS

THE ARTICLE STUDIES THE PROBLEM FOR THE FIRST TIME AND CONSIDERS THE PHYSICAL PRINCIPLES OF SOIL COMPACTION, THE ACTION OF COMPACTION EQUIPMENT AND ITS SIMULATION, THE BEHAVIOR OF A CLAY SOIL UNDER DYNAMIC CONSOLIDATION, AND THE PUMPING EFFECT. IT IS SHOWN THAT: 1 - DYNAMIC CONSOLIDATION COMPACTION OF WATER- SATURATED COHESIVE SOILS IS POSSIBLE, AND 2- IF THE LOAD IS DECREASED A PUMPING EFFECT OCCURS AFTER INFILTRATION OF WATER, AND THIS CAUSES DESTRUCTION OF THE SOIL.
