Checking priorities
An optimized snowplow routing solution is being tested by the city of Centennial, Colorado. The city works through a public-private partnership for public-works services, including snow-removal operations; it is believed to be the largest partnership of its kind in the United States. Mathematical algorithms are applied for route optimization, resulting in a reduction of plowing time, reduced miles driven, decreased fuel costs, cut labor hours and lowered CO2 emissions. Route optimization produced a high rate of return on investment.
