GUIDELINES FOR COMPACTION CONTROL OF FILL

THE REPORT ADDRESSES ITSELF TO THE FOLLOWING THREE QUESTIONS: (1) BY WHAT STANDARD CAN THE SUITABILITY OF FILL COMPACTION BE JUDGED? (2) WHEN DOES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ORIGINAL DENSITY TEST AND THE REPEAT CHECK OR ADDITIONAL DENSITY TEST BECOME SIGNFICIANT? (3) WHEN DOES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A LOWER THAN AVERAGE DENSITY TEST AND THE FILL AVERAGE BECOME SIGNIFICANT AS IT IS ON THIS BASIS THAT RECOMPACTION MUST BE CONSIDERED?
