ITS and Telematic Services– Different Implementation Aspects
The project intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and Telematic Services – Different Implementation Aspects was funded by the Swedish Transport Administration during 2009-2010. EasyWay has identified 8 “Core European ITS Services” in three areas. These core services have been broken down further into 16 subareas (EasyWay, 2010). Within the scope of this project, six services have been identified for more in-depth analysis in relationship to a road-user charging system. The services Intelligent Truck Parking and Incident Warning are promising to integrate with an onboard equipment (OBE) used for distance based charging for heavy goods vehicle. However, several issues remain to investigate in order to support a future implementation of the positioning services. The project has investigated different implementation aspects and by conducting a market based survey achieved results on integrity, user needs and willingness to pay concerning in vehicle positioning services with special focus on Core Services.
