Anti-climbing and Rollover Protection for Tank Wagons for the Transport of Dangerous Goods

This article describes how tank wagons are primarily used for the transport of dangerous goods. The safety of dangerous goods that are transported by rail is regulated by the International Carriage of Dangerous Good by Rail (RID). Pressure wagons are used for the transport of toxic and inflammable gases and these types of trains are of great concern in the event of a collision. The article discusses how two tank wagons derailed and were pushed alongside one another or on top of one another and this is called climbing or overriding. The use of anti-climbing and rollover protections for tank wagons are presented in the article.
