A model for work activity schedules with synchronization for multiple-worker households

This paper explores work activity scheduling in a multi-worker household. A joint hybrid discretion choice-duration models is presented, with estimations based on a Household Travel Survey from the San Francisco Bay Area. The model explores the intra-household interactions through worker schedules synchronization mechanisms. Estimation results suggest that individual worker schedules in multiple worker households should be modeled jointly, as they are subject to strong synchronization.
