How to Educate a Community about Sweeping

This article profiles efforts being made in Oregon's Lake Oswego to educate the local community about street sweeping. After purchasing a Schwarze A7 Tornado regenerative sweeper, the city undertook plans to raise community awareness about street sweeping and the correlation between clean streets and quality water. To engage the community, the city held naming and coloring contests for the sweepers, and promoted the contests through local school visits. The contests opened the door for educating the community about the sweepers, which cover 6,400 miles of road every year.
