Blue Lines & Red Lines: The Intersection of Rail and Hockey

This article follows up to one published a few years earlier ("Take the Train to the Ballgame") that chronicled the strong connection between baseball in America and the trains that linked its fans to their stadiums and communities; here this connection is demonstrated between Canada's pastime, ice hockey, and passenger rail. In the case of this sport, nearly all the National Hockey League teams are served by links to rail transit networks, with several ice hockey areas actually resting atop train stations, as this article shows.
