Western Australian regional freight transport network plan
The Western Australian Regional Freight Transport Network Plan is a comprehensive and integrated strategic plan for all modes of freight transport across regional Western Australia. The plan’s scope is extensive. It articulates strategic planning, policy and capital project priorities to meet the freight transport demands of regional Western Australia to 2031 (mainly outside of the Perth and Peel regions) across State roads, State-owned rail lines and port authorities. It sets the strategic direction for regional freight transport planning for the next 20 years and consolidates the decision-making for future transport investment to respond to key transport challenges in regional Western Australia. The plan articulates the State Government’s main roles in the development of the regional freight network to 2031 and highlights the focus on partnering with the private sector to deliver infrastructure, particularly in relation to port and rail network development.
