Long term friction performance of longitudinally diamond ground concrete
This report provides the results of the measurements taken on two pavement sections to date and describes their implications for the mass adoption of this procedure throughout the Highways Agency network in the United Kingdom. TRL has measured surface friction on two pavement sections of the A12 Chelmsford bypass, and a section of the A14 between Whitehouse and Copdock. A longitudinal diamond grinding technique had been utilized to treat each section. The goal of using this technique was to restore skid resistance and surface texture to the sections.
