Attitudes of Drivers-Respondents on Speed and Speed Limit Exceedance

Stavovi anketiranih vozaca o brzini i prekoracenju dopuštene brzine

Many drivers do not respect the speed limits signaled on the road, driving faster than prescribed for a certain road category, type of vehicle or speeding regardless of the road condition and the conditions under which the traffic on the road is performed. The reasons why the drivers behave in this way were studied in the survey of the drivers. The survey was conducted through a questionnaire, which was formed for this purpose. Some of the issues in the questionnaire were taken from a questionnaire survey which was conducted by the drivers in the European Union (EU) project SARTRE 3 in the EU and Belgrade. This project examined the attitudes of drivers on the speed of the vehicle but also on other issues of importance to traffic safety. To make the sample more comprehensive and more representative and to be able to make conclusions characteristic for the behaviour and attitudes of drivers on the speed of vehicles valid for a wider region, the research conducted in the Republic of Serbia presents an overview and comparison with results obtained in the EU project SARTRE and in Belgrade.
