STUDY OF THE LAWS OF ABSORPTION OF EXPLOSION ENERGY IN A POWDERY MEDIUM /IN RUSSIAN/

TESTS ARE CARRIED OUT TO DETERMINE SOME OF THE LAWS OF ENERGY ABSORPTION OF A SHOCK WAVE IN A POWDERY MEDIUM. POWDERY AND PULVERIZED MATERIALS ABSORB, IN A PREDOMINANTLY IRREVERSIBLE MANNER, THE ENERGY PRODUCED BY IMPULSION SOURCES (SHOCK, EXPLOSION). THE DEGREE OF ABSORPTION OF SPECIFIC ENERGY IS DIRECTLY LINKED WITH THE DIMENSIONS OF THE ELEMENTS OF THE POWDERY MATERIAL AND ITS COMPACTION. AN INCREASE IN THE DENSITY OF THE POWDERY MEDIUM RESULTS IN AN INCREASE IN THE MASS SPEED AND STRESS WAVE PROPAGATION SPEED, TOGETHER WITH AN INCREASE IN SPECIFIC ENERGY. WHEN THE COMPACTION COEFFICIENT OF THE POWDERY MATERIAL RISES FROM 1.04 TO 1.10, THE TRANSMISSION OF THE SPECIFIC ENERGY IS MULTIPLIED BY APPROXIMATELY 120. /LCPC/RRL/
