THE INTERACTION BETWEEN SURFACE FOUNDATIONS /IN ITALIAN/

THE INTERACTION IS EXAMINED IN A REGULAR GROUP OF NINE SQUARE SURFACE FOUNDATIONS UPON VARYING THEIR RECIPROCAL DISTANCE. THE VERTICAL STRESS COMPONENT IS CALCULATED AND THEN COMPARED WITH THAT FOR AN ISOLATED FOUNDATION IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE INTERACTION. THE EFFECT OF SUPERIMPOSED STRESS ON THE SUBSIDENCE OF THE FOUNDATIONS AND ON ANY POSSIBLE DIFFERENTIAL SUBSIDENCE, IS EXAMINED. TWO TYPES OF TERRAIN ARE CONSIDERED: (1) TERRAIN WITH A CONSTANT MODULUS OF DEFORMABILITY, AND (2) WHERE THE MODULUS VARIES LINEARLY IN EIGHT DIFFERENT WAYS ACCORDING TO DEPTH.
