CREEP OF SLOPES IN INITIALLY LOADED CLAYS (IN GERMAN)

A DISTINCTION IS MADE BETWEEN MOVEMENTS WHICH OCCUR WHERE FROST HAS PENETRATED DURING WINTER, AND THOSE WHICH CAN BE TRACED BACK TO DEEPER MOVEMENTS WHICH ARE THE SUBJECT OF THE ARTICLE. THE AUTHOR SHOWS THE CLOSE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE BEHAVIOR OF INITIALLY LOADED CLAYS AND CLAY SHALES IN SLOPES, AND THE GEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF THESE CLAYS. THEIR ELASTIC EXTENSION ENERGY, WHICH IS HELD IN BY DIAGENETIC BONDS, CAN ONLY BE DESTROYED IF THE CLAYS ARE SUBJECTED TO WEATHERING. /FC/RRL/
