A REPORT ON THE QUALITATIVE BEHAVIOR OF PORE WATER PRESSURE INSIDE A TEST SAMPLE OF MIXED SOIL AT TRI-AXIAL SHEARING TESTS

THIS CONCERNS AN INVESTIGATION PROGRAM REGARDING THE BEHAVIOUR OF MIXED SOIL, EXPERIMENTS WITH TRIAXIAL SHEARING DEVICES, MEASUREMENT OF THE PORE WATER PRESSURE, EXPERIMENTS WITH NATURAL MIXED SOILS /THIS MEANS SOILS WITH AN ELONGATED GRANULATION CURVES/, AS WELL AS EXPERIMENTS WITH CLAY-STONE SKELETONS, WHICH MAY BE CONSIDERED AS ARTIFICIAL MIXED SOILS WITH FALL OUT GRANULATION. THE EXPERIMENTS WERE EXECUTED IN TRIAXIAL DEVICES WITH 20, 50 AND 100 CM TESTING DIAMETER, IN WHICH THE TEST PRESSURE MEASURING INDICATOR /THE MAIHAK AND GLOTZ SYSTEM/ WERE ARRANGED INSIDE A TEST PIECE. THE TEMPORARY COURSE OF THE PORE WATER PRESSURE IN NATURAL MIXED SOILS AND IN CLAY-STONE SKELETONS WAS EXAMINED, DEPENDING ON THE STRATIFICATION DENSITY OF THE STONE STRUCTURE AND DURING THE SHEARING ACTION, AS WELL AS IN NATURAL MIXED SOILS MOSTLY NEAR SLOPES, SHORTLY BEFORE THE STRUCTURE DECLINE OF THE PORE PRESSURE OWING TO THE DISINTEGRATION. IN THE CLAY- STONE SKELETONS, WHEN THE STONE COMPONENT IS LESS THAN 60 PER CENT AT THE SHEARING ACTION, NO DECLINE OF THE PORE WATER PRESSURE TAKES PLACE. THE DEGREE OF THE WATER SATURATION IS OF GREAT INFLUENCE. /FG/RRL/
