PRESSURE DROP DUE TO ASYMMETRIC HYDRODYNAMICALLY DEVELOPING FLOWS IN A CHANNEL

The inlet velocity profile may be cross-sectionally nonuniform and asymmetric, with the result that the developing velocity profiles are also asymmetric. Such an example can be found, for instance, in the mixing of two streams of the same fluid in a channel. In this note, the pressure drop due to such an asymmetrically developing laminar flow in a parallel-plate channel is presented.
