SHIPYARD EXPERIENCE IN THE APPLICATION OF COMPUTERS TO INSTALLATION DESIGN

The practices, problems, and procedures presented are developed from an engineering management point of view. No special knowledge of the computers or computer programming is required. While the basis for this paper lies in experience gained through ship overhaul projects, it is felt that the techniques employed are sufficiently general as to be equally applicable to new ship construction.
